Invitation from Congress Chairs
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend PSANZ09, the 13th Annual Congress of the Perinatal Society of Australia and New Zealand (PSANZ).
PSANZ09 will be held from 19 to 22 April 2009 at the brand new, world-class Darwin Convention Centre in the Northern Territory, Australia. This is the first time our Congress has been held in the Top End and we hope that you will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy Darwin’s tropical climate and alfresco lifestyle. Darwin is a vibrant cosmopolitan city and is the gateway to World Heritage listed Kakadu National Park and Litchfield National Park. The proximity and familiarity with Australia's northern neighbours is reflected in the town's relaxed, cosmopolitan, tropical atmosphere. In a country that prides itself on its ethnic diversity, Darwin may be the most multicultural city of all.
We invite anyone with an interest in the art and science of perinatal care to attend this exciting Congress. The Congress will attract delegates from Australia, New Zealand and overseas, including midwives, neonatal nurses, neonatologists, obstetricians, scientists, pathologists, allied health professionals and epidemiologists.
The theme for the Congress is A Top End Experience: Better birthing, better babies. There will be a particular focus on matters relevant to the delivery of perinatal care in remote regions. We will be addressing issues of concern in indigenous populations including perinatal infections, as well as broader issues of risk and choice in maternity care, early origins of disease, and neonatal resuscitation.
If you would like to participate in this Congress as an exhibitor, please contact the Congress Managers.
The fundamental objective of PSANZ is to foster communication between health professionals, to advance the practice and understanding of Perinatology and our Annual Congress is the primary forum for this communication.
We look forward to welcoming you to Darwin in 2009!
